Have a huge selection in the shelves and are willing to extend themselves to give you recommendations and tell you where to buy whiskey, even telling you what part of Scotland and which distilleries to go to. They have a good amount of seating space, but there are so many people who come here that it's pretty packed most the time. Definitely highly recommend it, all these reviews can't be wrong!

Between them they picked me out a great whisky (the very exclusive Blair Athol 10yo) and recommended some great sites and bars to check out during my stay. The pub itself is a wonderful mix of hip 'n' homely and has such a welcoming vibe. The pies looked (and smelled) delicious too but I was too full of pizza crunch to partake this time. I'll be back.

I was having a great time with friends and some French visitors who I was enjoying some cultural banter with when a member of staff told me to 'Stop singing like that'. Now I wasn't causing a raucous amount of noise on a busy Friday evening and not was I constantly singing the French visitors were singing along as well. Surely in a place so historic and cultured some singing is permissable, especially when it some classical french music or opera. It put a real dampener on the night.
